Michael Schumacher refused to give up hope of winning the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix after a spin in qualifying left him at the back of the grid.

Schumacher said: "You know in formula one you should never give up. If you know me, I never do."

"I'm Michael Schumacher. I don't need to test my driving ability, but it's certainly interesting to do what I have to do from where I am now."
